Arri (Aravinthan) Coomarasamy, MBChB, MD, MRCOG, DFFP
Arri is a lecturer and specialist registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology. He is also an honorary lecturer in epidemiology. He teaches in various MRCOG, DRCOG and evidence-based medicine (EBM) courses, as well lectures to MSc students at the University of Birmingham. His lectures are invariably interactive, and are based on sound educational principles.

Arri has published over 40 research articles in top medical journals, such as the BMJ, BJOG, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fertility & Sterility and Human Reproduction. He has written several book chapters, and was also the pricipal author of the RCOG guideline on "The investigation and management of the small for gestational age fetus." He has recently been appointed as a trainee Editor for BJOG.

He holds over £1.2 million in research grants, and runs an active research programme with Khalid Khan. He has currently been commissioned by the West Midlands Deanery to run EBM workshops for SpRs and Consultants across all specialities in the West Midlands Region, and has been commissioned by the European Union to promote EBM to private enterprises that supply to the NHS.
